Some exciting changes are coming to Just Like You! As many of you know, my own journey of releasing 23kg has led me to develop the weight alignment programme Living Light 5:2
Kia ora e te whanau. I’ve got an announcement to share with you all today – I’ve made the decision to permanently close the doors on my retail business, The Magpie Cottage Dipton on Saturday the 21st of December 2024.
It’s been an incredible two-year journey since I opened up my shop back in September 2022, living out a dream of running my own little business on our family farm. I’ve cherished every moment of connecting with our wonderful community, supporting local suppliers, and hosting all sorts of special events and workshops in the cottage.
But the reality is that retail has been tough during the entire time of opening, and my little shop just hasn’t been financially viable. While it’s a bittersweet decision, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to shift my focus and priorities to new and exciting opportunities.
In the last year I’ve been on a personal journey myself. Releasing over 20kg which has inspired me to want to support other wāhine to release weight through the MIBOCO Living Light Coaching programme. I have also always loved clothing, jewellery and fashion and have decided to embark upon some styling training.
As we age our weight, body shape and colouring change and many of us feel lost and are unsure about what now works for us. So my aim is to support women to bring the best version of themselves forward into the world each day, positively impacting their families and communities through greater confidence and energy.
So starting this Wednesday the 30th of October there is 15% off everything in store ONLY (excluding commissions). I only made the decision last week so the shop is chokka with all my Christmas stock. So it’s a perfect time to get an early bargain. If you haven’t been before this is the perfect opportunity to visit. I want to sell as much stock as possible so don’t feel bad getting a bargain – you’re doing me a favour!!! The Magpie Cottage Dipton is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10-4pm
Thank you to everyone who has been with me on this journey. To those who have supported me throughout my various ventures, you know who you are and I thank you. And to those who I am yet to meet – I hope I can help you release some weight and become the person you have always dreamed of being or once I’ve completed my style training I would love to help you with some styling and colour consultation so you can look and feel fabulous.
So don’t be a stranger and come on out to 22 McLeod road North, Dipton. We just 3km off SH6, north of Dipton and south of Lumsden.

Last Thursday this awful feeling culminated in what I can only call a brain freeze. We had nothing
out for dinner and I literally couldn’t decide or even think about what to create.
