Do you even get into a funk?

I have to come clean and admit that I have been in a bit of a creative funk for the last few weeks.

I have to come clean

I have to come clean and admit that I have been in a bit of a creative funk for the last few weeks. My creative juices haven’t been flowing and because of this I haven’t been posting much on social media.

Inaction leads to more inaction

Like many things in life – inaction leads to more inaction.  I created a gift pack for Valentines Day but didn’t get it organised or posted on social media in time.  There are advantages and disadvantages of being online only.  Promotion for special events need to start weeks in advance so that you – catch enough views, email opens, can engage online and beat those dreaded social media algorithms.  You then need to allow enough time for creating and shipping.

Promoting on social media starts so early

Realistically I needed to start promoting Valentine’s Day when I was still on holiday in early January and that did not feel right. It was hot down here in beautiful Murihiku.  We were enjoying one of the best summers we have had in years and I think as a nation we needed time to rest and reboot.

Over analysing

I also over analyse things.  It’s often called analysis by paralysis.  Overthinking a subject and making it too complicated which invariably leads to inaction.

How do I make my posts more engaging?

No one will want to see my old mug wearing earrings?

I need a younger better looking model …

What are the new colour trends for autumn/winter 2022 (harder to answer than you would realise)?

I’m back

This is a sneak peek into my psyche recently but this week I am back with vengeance.  I’m writing this blog; I’m working those earrings in photo shoots, playing with new colour combinations and I’ll be scheduling posts for social media.

How do you move through funks?

Do you ever get into funks and if yes, how do you move yourself through them? Have you learnt any tips that you’re happy to share?

Like, comment, share – it really does help

Finally, when you see a social media post from a small product based business – please give it a like and take the time to post a comment or even better share or save. It helps us with the algorithms to get greater visibility and exposure. So much mahi has gone into creating the content that we are all guilty sometimes of mindlessly scrolling through – slow down and enjoy the content.
